Qel-Droma devised a plan with Mandalore that would put Mandalore and the Crusaders at the forefront of the conflict: an all-out assault on the Republic shipyards orbiting the planet of Foerost. Mandalore the Indomitable led his troops into the Foerost's command centre, slaughtering everyone who stood in his way. Qel-Droma seized the Foerost shipyards, as well as the 300 Republic starships that were stationed there. With their newly acquired fleet, the Sith and Mandalorians attacked Corusant. The Mandalorian Crusaders rushed into Galactic City, as Basilisk war droids attacked from orbit. However, the Krath witch Aleema Keto betrayed Qel-Droma by ordering the withdrawal of their troops and leaving Qel-Droma to the Jedi. When the Mand'alor discovered the truth about Keto's treachery, he pretended to be faithful and dispatched his Crusaders with her newest assault force. In secret, he boarded his shuttle and travelled to Yavin 4 to seek Exar Kun's help. When Mandalore arrived on the jungle moon, he informed Exar of Aleema's actions and requested that the Dark Lord of the Sith assist him in saving Ulic from execution. With the help of Exar Kun, Mandalore the Indomitable stormed the Galactic Senate, saving Qel-Droma from the Jedi. After Aleema Keto was dealt with, Mandalore the Indomitable was entrusted with seizing the Iziz Royal Palace on Onderon. The Mandalorian Crusaders rushed down on their battle droid mounts toward the city of Iziz. The Mandalorians encountered stiff resistance in the form of Onderonian Beast Riders and their flying Drexls. During the battle, the Beast Riders managed to send a message to the Republic, informing them that the Mandalorians were attacking and demanding urgent help. A Republic fleet arrived not long after to counter the Crusader assault. Mand'alor believed that there was still a chance to lead his Crusaders to safety after witnessing the destruction of his orbiting fleet carriers; ordering his warriors to flee Onderon and travel to the moon of Dxun, whose atmosphere was currently touching Onderon's. However, the Mand'alor's Basilisk war droid was damaged by enemy fire during their escape, and he landed on Dxun's surface, cut off from the rest of the Crusaders. The Mand'alor was quickly encircled by a variety of deadly beasts. After a courageous last stand against them, Mandalore the Indomitable was ultimately overpowered and killed by the beats. While searching the jungles for their fallen leader, a Mandalorian Crusader stumbled upon the Mand'alor's mask and claimed it as his own, thereby becoming the new Mand'alor. Soon after the death of Mandalore the Indomitable, the Sith were defeated by the Republic and the Mandalorians retreated back to their previous boundaries. Many Tuang had died in the war and it seemed as though it would take many generations to replenish their ranks. However, the new Mandalore, now going by the name Mandalore the Ultimate had great plans for his people.
