More than 300,000 people fled airstrikes and gunbattles that destroyed Marawi’s commercial centre and crippled the region’s economy. More than a year after the Philippines government declared victory over the militants, the government and military say they are doing their best to help displaced residents start rebuilding the city. But many of the displaced are increasingly frustrated about a process they say is too slow.
