Boris Johnson Launches the Legatum Institute's Prosperity for All Project

30 March 2015: It is time to reclaim capitalism as a moral force, Boris Johnson, said as he launched Tim Montgomerie's Prosperity for All project. The free market works, Johnson told an audience of politicians, policy-makers, and business people: it has increased income and raised life expectancy among the poorest. It has offered individuals the opportunity to fulfil themselves. He spoke of "the absolute primacy of wealth creation if we are going to deliver these objectives." Wealth creation, he said, "actually has a moral purpose." Tim Montgomerie, Senior Fellow at the Legatum Institute, said his Vision, a ten-part report titled 'Prosperity for All', would deliver an agenda to Britain's next government for restoring faith in the free market.
