I sat down to do 8 covers today and this was all I got done. It happens. Hopefully, I'll have better luck tomorrow. Lots of little patterns to memorize in this one, mostly those high, "trilly" notes that seem to come almost at random. I definitely screwed up on the last one or two, but I wasn't going to do any better than this. In anticipation of this being the stiffest cover of this song that there is, I was hoping that the jacket might somewhat distract from that. "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, and Fire off of their "That's the Way of the World" album which came out in 1975!!! and featured Verdine White on bass. The jacket? Back when Lynn and I were Halloween crazy, we'd buy stuff that just looked off the wall, never knowing when it might be put to good use... either as a costume or a prop. We got this many years ago and it hangs in "one" of the closets where some of my basses are stored. Every time I'd go in the closet I'd see the jacket hanging there and say to myself, "I should really wear that for a video at some point." If this song is not "some point", I don't know what is.
