I'm so excited to give you a look at the beautiful main bed and bath at Oeste—my largest design project to date with my good friend Yayo! The first thing we did was place the bed to face out toward the beautiful desert landscape. To make the view more impactful, I pulled inspo from an artist’s retreat in Arizona that has an incredible circular window and made it a reading nook, which we actually built out by measuring my exact hip width making it such a cozy and unique experience. When thinking more about the interior, Yayo and I were drawn to one of our travels to San Miguel Allende—a town renowned for its incredible sunset tones. We captured that with a gorgeous golden paint color called Deserted Path from Dunn Edwards and the beautiful organic rust orange and blush colored bedding from Coyuchi. The bed itself, along with all of the other furniture in the room, is from Rejuvenation. The walnut pieces have a beautiful rich wood tone that work so nicely with all of the other hues and textures. Comfort and a good night’s rest are absolutely key, especially when on a much-needed getaway, so I immediately thought of Avocado Mattress for our beds. Not only are they incredibly cozy and plush, they’re handmade in California with 100% organic materials from their own farms. To catch some night time reading, we installed Hudson Valley Lighting fixtures that have a bit of an industrial look with a sleek brass finish. We added character with found objects like handmade ceramics from Oaxaca and a dried yucca hovering above the bed, plus accents from the Eloise throw pillows and an icy blue pop from artwork found from Society 6—a platform with endless artists and options making it so easy to find something you love. For the master bath, it was important that it felt luxurious and spa-like. We kept things light and bright, but warm with aged brass plumbing fixtures from Signature Hardware and counters made with the same Concrete Collaborative terrazzo found in the kitchen. I love using their terrazzo because it works indoors and outdoors, so we created a floor that travels from inside out toward the stunning oversized copper tub from Signature Hardware, which is such a moment. During the day you can soak while taking in the boulders and bunnies and at night turn off all the lights to catch the striking Milky Way. Thanks so much for joining me on a tour of my Yucca Valley oasis! Make sure to follow Oeste on Instagram and we hope to see you there soon! _______________________________ Find my Cookbook! http://www.thekitchykitchen.com/cookb...
