Tracy Reese is an American fashion designer, originally from Detroit, Michigan, She specializes in women's ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and home fashions. In 1982, she moved to New York City to pursue her education at Parsons School of Design. After graduating with an accelerated degree in 1984, Reese worked under Martine Sitbon at the firm Arlequin. She worked at several top fashion design houses, and eventually became head of the Women's Portfolio for Perry Ellis before launching her own label. Tracy Reese launched her namesake fashion brand in 1998 in New York City and over the past twenty plus years, expanded to include sub-brands Plenty, Frock! and Black Label In 2007 she was inducted as a board member of the CFDA and has been a member since 1990 She has been a member of the CFDA since 1990 and was inducted as a board member in 2007 Tracy Reese continues to evolve and pivot, In 2019, Tracy launched Hope for Flowers by Tracy Reese, a responsibly designed and produced collection. And recently moved her design studio to her hometown of Detroit. Tracy Reese’s designs have been seen on Tracee Ellis Ross, Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Janelle Monet to name a few.
