This video shows in-house testing of a monoblock packaging system that includes an overflow filling machine and chuck capping heads. (The system also includes a nitrogen purge system that can be seen, but is not functioning during this run). The two overflow fill heads work to fill each container run on the monoblock system to the same level, regardless of small differences in interior bottle volume. The cap chute releases, or places, one closure for each bottle just before the chuck heads descend to complete the seal. The nitrogen purge system, when in use, is used to displace oxygen in the head space of the container. Using nitrogen can extend the shelf life of a product while also helping the product to retain color, texture and flavor.
