This is the third session in a four-part cybersecurity training series for parish leadership from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese's Parish Cybersecurity Subcommittee. The session focuses on network security fundamentals, covering critical topics including wireless and wired network protection, the importance of network segmentation to isolate business operations from guest networks, and best practices for securing church networks against increasingly sophisticated threats. The presentation emphasizes practical steps parishes can take regardless of size, including conducting network audits, implementing proper Wi-Fi encryption and passwords, and considering partnerships with managed IT service providers to maintain ongoing network security. The Parish Cybersecurity Subcommittee, reporting to the Archdiocesan Council's Technology Committee, provides practical guidance and free resources to help parishes of all sizes strengthen their cybersecurity posture while balancing security needs with operational usability.
