This is my vintage Panasonic Performance Plus Platinum upright vacuum, model MC-V5238 (which I believe to be from the early 2000s) that I bought locally on OfferUp after always wanting to have a later model Panasonic. I do have 2 Panasonic Jet Flo's in my collection ( • Panasonic Jet Flo MC-6210 Upright Vacuum ) and ( • Panasonic Jet Flo MC-5237 Upright Vacuum ), and this one does make a good piece along with those. This was made around the time when Panasonic's at their prime in the vacuum industry and was around the time when Panasonic intruduced the Platinum name to their Performance Plus machines which symbolized that this was their top-of-the-line cleaners and had high end features. This model is a little bit lower end since it doesn't have the quick draw wand setup like the equivalent MC-V5248 would, but overall it's essentially the same cleaner. It also comes with an optional hose attachment kit that unfortunately I don't have with it, but I do believe there are kits in the aftermarket for these vacuums. It features a 12 amp 2-stage motor (even though Panasonic claims it's a 3 stage along with their TriForce system of the time, all the third stage really was just the filtration system) with clean air design and takes Panasonic Type U bags (with this example running a HEPA cloth Riccar/Simplicity Style A bag for better filtration). The suction and airflow are amazing (it could probably give a direct air vacuum a run for its money) on this machine and the agitation is pretty amazing as well. The only main issue I have with this vacuum is that it was used pretty heavily and is pretty rough around the edges in a lot of areas and has some cracks in a few places, but it doesn't seem to affect too much. Overall, I really love this vacuum, and it's quite an amazing cleaner, it's truly a shame that Panasonic backed out of the vacuum industry (at least for the US).
