Allmannajuvet Attraction along Ryfylke The zinc mines of the Allmannajuvet gorge are an abandoned mining works in Sauda, Ryfylke. The mines were operational from 1881 until the end of 1899. During this period 12,000 tonnes of zinc ore were extracted! Today the area has been turned into a museum. The simple but spectacular buildings in the gorge are designed in the tradition of industrial construction which blends well into the terrain. The area will be completed in 2016 so that we will be able to provide information about the industrial history of the place and make the old mines accessible to the public.
