All Hands on Deck: Preventing Harm from Firearm Injury

This presentation discusses health system and community approaches to preventing firearm injury and optimizing recovery from interpersonal violence. Guest: Elinore J. Kaufman, MD, MSHP Assistant Professor of Surgery University of Pennsylvania, Division of Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery Elinore Kaufman, MD, MSHP, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Harvard Medical School she completed her general surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian Cornell and her fellowship in trauma surgery at Penn. Dr. Kaufman has used quantitative, qualitative and geospatial methods to evaluate the impact of public policy on injury and injury-related mortality, as well as to study the quality and outcomes of care for traumatic injuries.
