Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has been appointed by President Bongbong Marcos as the new Ombudsman. This is despite the objections of some allies of former president Rodrigo Duterte. Presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos says the apointment is part of the plan to jail Vice President Sara Duterte. However, the Palace says Remulla will be impartial in its new role. Among the responsibilities of the ombudsman is to file cases against corrupt officials. Remulla, himself, assures that he will not use the new position to target a political camp and that he will spare no one. 24 Oras is GMA Network’s flagship newscast, anchored by Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales and Emil Sumangil.
