Mudroom & Bathroom Episode 1: DIY Schluter Ditra Installation - Today I am installing Schluter Ditra over my OSB wood subfloor in the mudroom and adjoining bathroom. This is the underlayment for the tile I will be laying on the floor. It acts as an uncoupling membrane, so when you have movement in the wood subfloor, it will not be transferred to the tile and crack it. When installing over wood subfloor, you must use a modified thinset that meets ANSI A118.11 standards. I used a ¼” x 3/16” v-notched trowel. This is a DIY project.
