Look for brown pods, pods that feel dry and light as well as pods that may have cracked open a bit. You will know your seeds are ready for harvest when you cut it open and the seeds inside are a nice brown. Be careful not to open pods outdoors since the slightest breeze will send your seeds flying in the air. The same goes for indoors. When opening your seed pods indoors make sure and grab a hold of the cottony ends to ensure the little fibers don't fly all around your house.
