This park centers around a gorge (that you cannot see in summertime, due to the trees) where whiskey and rum were illegally stored during prohibition, they say. A small parking lot along the old disused Princeton Road is where you take either the steep upper loop (in two sections) or the lower one seen in this video. The land is part replanted farmland and part mature hardwood with a mix of Acadian trees and shrubs. Interpretive signs, benches, and trail markers dot the path. There is a tiny creek you can easily miss, and a native plant garden run by Trout River environmentalists. The trails have steps, bridges, and slopes, but it's pretty tame stuff.
