Good Cop, Bad Cop - “Peter Bleksley - A man who makes Jack Regan look like St Francis of Assisi." On the 6th November 2024 at PJ’s Chelsea Brasserie in London, SW3, Matthew Steeples of 'The Steeple Times’ hosted the first in a series of discussion dinners where he began by interviewing the anything-but-meek-and-mild Peter Bleksley. Renowned policing and crime expert Bleksley, the host of Talk TV’s ‘Crime Suspect’ and a gentleman best known for his role as ‘Chief’ on ‘Manhunt’ on Channel 4 did not mince his words and spoke of the toxicity that has enveloped policing, the dangers of woke culture and the way in which the public’s enthusiasm for the true crime genre has developed in recent years. The pair toured “agitator of the establishment” Bleksley's fascinating career in not only policing, but also television and writing and his determination to snare Kevin Parle and bring the killer of Alistair Wilson to justice. Thanks are due to Peter Bleksley for generously giving his time and to Oana Mitrica and her superlative team at PJ's Chelsea Brasserie for providing the mezzanine level of their restaurant for this event. The Steeple Times 'Discussion Dinners' are held monthly and hosted by Matthew Steeples. Our next event will see Steeples be interviewed by freelance journalist and former BBC publicist Claire Rubinstein about three of true crime's hottest cases - the Menendez brothers and their likely resentencing in 2025, Ghislaine Maxwell and her possible pardoning by Trump in 2025 and Madeleine McCann and whether the Met Police will finally end its pointless funding of Operation Grange in 2025. Our 'Criminal Christmas Discussion Dinner' will be held at PJ's Chelsea Brasserie in Fulham Road, London, SW3 on 8th December 2024 and will include not only a 3 course Christmas dinner and drinks, but also a riveting evening of conversation about lawmakers and lawbreakers in the company of friends, readers and true crime enthusiasts. Tickets for the event can be purchased by contacting angelo@thesteepletimes.com to get direct bank transfer details at this late stage.
