DREAMING THE AWAKENING

Synopsis: DREAMING THE AWAKENING Is a conceptual video representing the journey through the deep mind of a CLOWN. The clown is experiencing the effects of social conditioning through stereotypes and, as a result, faces a harsh judgmental world that dictates what is GOOD or BAD, NORMAL or ABNORMAL, BLACK or WHITE. These influences in society create an obsession with polarity instilling a fear of being ambiguous, in-between, or “GREY”. This creates an inner conflict within the clown, resulting in an identity crisis. In this experience, the clown starts to become aware of the many layers which lie deep in his subconscious in correspondence with the collective ego. Facing those layers leads him to feel chaotic, and he then realizes that he may not fit into the societal standards of perfection. The clown collapses to his internal death(change), and he is reborn. He realizes his pure essence (pure consciousness) and becomes aware that all of humanity is equal. The foundation of this video was derived from Facundo Gimenez’s philosophy of CLOWN ART. Clowns have an inevitable association with children and the inner child. Children are innocent souls full of love and incapable of differentiating status, gender, race, etc. Only through conditioning does the child learn the concept of separation. An actor that can reach the state of mind of a CLOWN becomes pure essence, living in the present moment, acting on impulse, and expressing without filters in a state of naiveness and playfulness. He enters a world of his own imaginations where anything is possible: the world of a true Magician. Clowns are the shamans of the abstract world with the power to awaken the audience, connecting them with their innocent spirit.
