In the mixing world, Andrew Scheps is a man that needs no introduction whatsoever. The multi Grammy award winning engineer and mixer, along with his producers credit list, reads like a who’s who of music royalty. Working with a diverse range of artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, Adele, Metallica, Jay-Z, Iggy Pop, Michael Jackson and many more. It’s easy to see why Andrew has earned a huge reputation and is held in such high regard by both his peers and artists he works with. Mr. Scheps recently visited Australia for a stretch of speaking events, exclusive mixing seminars and education events. In between his hectic schedule, Noisegate had the privilege and rare opportunity to sit down with the man himself and chew the fat on diverse topics ranging from his early days with Synclavier, to plug-ins and analogue modelling, working with producers and trying to uncover what the hell a “pillow bomb” is.
