Ray Still Handel Marcello concerti Mexico City 1987

Ray went to Mexico City in 1987 to play the Händel Oboe Concerto in g minor [HWV 287] & the Marcello Oboe Concerto in d minor. He had someone make this video from the audience with his video camera. To my knowledge it's the only recording he left us of the Handel concerto, which he had proposed to Fritz Reiner as his first concerto to play with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the 1950's. Reiner replied that "a little Handel goes a long way" with him, and said he wanted Ray to play the Strauss concerto first, which he did. Ray recorded the Marcello concerto with Richard Stamp and the Academy of London in 1990. on Virgin 90813.
