Machining involves a surprising amount of maths techniques that we may have forgotten since our school days. Marc from @GCodeTutor is here to help us brush up on some math knowledge that we will need when programming parts for CNC machines. In this video, Marc explains how linear equations work and how to find an unknown value. This is an essential skill as a machinist as it enables us to rearrange any formula to make any unknown value the subject. We would use this technique to rearrange our speeds and feeds equations for example to be able to work out what the cutting speed is if we are using a set spindle speed. Or we would use it to rearrange the trigonometry equations.
