This video has been made on behalf of a small village in North Wales, Aberdaron, which has quite an interesting history as it was the final stop before the crossing by sea to Ynys Enlli/Bardsey Island by the Pilgrims. It shows an aerial view of a water mill which the village are aiming to restore. We are hoping it is of interest to those of you who are interested in restoration and heritage projects. The length of the video is aimed to give those who are interested time to focus on the condition of the architecture. The history of the mill and progress on the planned works can be found at https://melindaron.org. A crowd funding page has been established at https://gf.me/u/yjrjmi Please feel free to share the video and spread the news! The mill in Aberdaron, situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, is a Grade II listed water mill which dates from 1252. Sadly, as can be seen from this aerial view, the mill has become quite derelict. It is the intention of the local community that the mill should be restored to working order, with the hope that it will be grinding corn again by 2023. Their vision is that it will be for educational, tourism and heritage purposes, and they wish to involve local school children in the grinding of local grain into flour and to bake bread in the adjacent Y Becws Islyn Bakery. Geraint Jones , who owns the bakery has transfered the mill to a community group. The aim is to raise £1m. A crowd funding page has been established at https://gf.me/u/yjrjmi Any support would be appreciated.
