Kathleen and her husband Jeff are co-founders of a nonprofit start up in Fort Collins called FoCo Cafe. This pay-what-you-can cafe will serve nutritious and delicious meals to ALL members of the community regardless of their ability to pay. Most of Kathleen's waking hours are spent communicating the significant work being done in the College of Engineering at CSU, engaging the community in a discussion about access to healthy food, or hiking the beautiful trails of Colorado. She is a Director of Strategic Communications at Colorado State and has enjoyed working with CSU engineering students, alumni and friends since 2002. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
