Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off the Meerut Metro and the Namo Bharat train from Shatabdi Nagar station in Meerut, boosting high-speed connectivity between Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh. He also took a metro ride to Meerut South station and dedicated the entire 82-kilometre Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor to the nation.
