The scenario of the film is built around the story of a young girl Altyn, who came from the village to the city to study and immediately fell into the cycle of life's challenges, but managed to overcome all the difficulties thanks to her strong inner will and faith. In the film we see a three-level visual space: the upper level is a majestic snow-covered alpine expanse (syrt), as if the embodiment of the timeless beginning of life, where, since ancient times, Altyn's ancestors were shepherds and kept the yaks. The middle level is the village level - subject to the faster passage of time; and the lower level is the metropolitan city, with vanity and vices, where Altyn comes after school. The entire plot of the film revolves around the hopeless circumstances in which Altyn finds herself: betrayal of her boy friend, unexpected pregnancy, which is not welcomed by society's moral norms. She is under constant pressure from her sister and close circle who force her to abortion or illegally sell the baby. However, Altyn strongly resists to this encounters alien to her soul: stereotypes, manipulations, vicious lifestyle, cult of consumption and money that have engulfed modern civilization. By her behavior, she sets an example of incorruptibility and strong inner spiritual core. The film is characterized by a theme of preserving moral fundamentals and values – humanness and compassion of Kyrgyz people represented by Altyn's grandmother and grandfather, and a parallel to it ecological theme - throughout the film a leitmotif is given by ecologist and glaciologist Urmat, who studies environmental state of the country's regions, disrupted by gold mining companies. Thus, the film in a dramatic form warns of the modern cultural and spiritual crisis of the world and a man, affirming nevertheless the possibility of a hope for renewal.
