A line drawing of the required shape is made 2. A jig for the required shape is made so that the wire can be held tightly in the shape while being heated, otherwise it snaps out 3. The assembly is heated till the whole wire has a dull red glow 4. Then it is quenched in cold water 5. The wire is removed from the jig and the extra bits are cut off 6.
