On March 17, 2025, Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department was tragically killed during a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Victorville, California. The devastating crash split his patrol car in half, ending the life of a dedicated officer, mentor, and community leader. This senseless tragedy could have been prevented. The suspect, Ryan Duane Turner Jr., had a history of reckless pursuits and should have been behind bars. Due to California’s weak sentencing laws, Turner was released months earlier than he should have been, costing Deputy Cuevas his life. 💙 Deputy Cuevas leaves behind a wife and two children.
