This area has been a trading hub for centuries. 🔹 What to explore: • Wholesale Electrical & Hardware Markets: One of the biggest in Lahore, selling everything from light bulbs to heavy machinery. • Traditional Shops: Some shops are over a century old, run by families for generations. ⸻ 🚶 Stop 2: Sunheri Masjid (Golden Mosque) Hidden within the bazaar, this beautiful 18th-century mosque was built during the Mughal period. It features three golden domes and intricate tile work. 🔹 Why visit? • Stunning Mughal-era architecture • A peaceful escape from the busy market ⸻ 🚶 Stop 3: Old Havelis & Architecture As you walk through the bazaar, look out for historic Havelis (mansions) with wooden balconies and intricate carvings. Many of these belong to old merchant families. 🔹 Notable spots: • Haveli of Nau Nihal Singh (a bit further away but worth a visit) • Old colonial-era buildings with fading wooden facades 🚶 Stop 4: Street Food & Local Snacks No walking tour is complete without Lahori street food! Stop at small vendors for traditional snacks. 🔹 Must-try foods: • Samosas & Pakoras (fried snacks) • Kachori (crispy, stuffed pastry) • Lassi (sweet or salty yogurt drink) ⸻ 📍 END: Exit Towards Shah Alam Market As you move further down, you’ll reach Shah Alam Market, another historic trading center famous for fabric, jewelry, and household goods.
