Upgrade your 3D printer’s cooling with aftermarket fans like Noctua — without messy wiring or firmware changes. In this video, I build and install a DIY adjustable fan adapter that lets me run both 12 V and 24 V fans from the same rail. It’s a prototype on perfboard, but it proves the concept: a cleaner way to use high-quality, quiet, and reliable fans instead of stock ones. I’ll walk through: 🔹 Why OEM printer fans aren’t always the best choice 🔹 How this adapter works (buck converter + jumper settings) 🔹 Bench tests with multiple fans (Antec, 4020 blower, stock enclosure) 🔹 Adding a ground reference and installing the board 🔹 Real-world results inside the printer This version is built into my Centauri Carbon recirculating aux fan shroud, but the design isn’t limited to one printer — it can be adapted to almost any setup. In the next video, I’ll take this further by designing a proper PCB with silkscreen labels, mounting holes, and an enclosure to make it universal. 📎 Links in the description: • Circuit diagram -https://github.com/SyntheticElectron3...
