These delightful "appetizers" are elegantly displayed on forks and spoons for your Halloween party guest's enjoyment. Cookie eyeball video: • Halloween Party Treats: Cookie Eyeballs One 9x13" cake mix will require about 3/4 to 1 container of canned frosting for the right texture. This will make about 2-3 dozen 1.5" diameter eyeballs. Cake pop balls freeze really well, so if you make too many put them in a freezer bag or container in a single layer (or layers separated by waxed paper/plastic wrap. Take them out another day and make a different kind of cake pop (remold shape if necessary). Bake your cake, cool and crumble to find crumbs in a large bowl. Add enough frosting to crumbs to obtain a play-doh/modelling clay like texture. Use a cookie scoop to scoop out equal portions and roll into ball shapes. Chill the cake pop balls in the refrigerator for an hour or so until very cold. Spear eyeballs with disposable plastic forks (or use metal forks if you are only making a few to enjoy at home) and dip into some melted white chocolate or candy melts. Place on a cookie sheet lined with a silicone mat or waxed paper. If you want them to stand upright, lean handle of fork on a tall container or glass. All to harden and decorate with red candy melts and candy irises. If desired pour a small puddle of red candy melts on some waxed paper and place an eyeball in the center of it. Allow to harden. For cake pop eyeballs in spoons, prepare cake pop balls as above, allow to chill and then dip ball into white candy melts. Transfer to cookie sheet to harden. Pour some red candy melts into the bowl of a plastic spoon and place decorated eyeball into it. Allow to harden. If your candy melts are too thick to work with, add a little bit of vegetable shortening and stir until melted.
