KC’s First Friday in the Crossroads One of the things I enjoyed about Kansas City is its Frist Friday they have every month. I was here in 2019 and it was a real festival with streets closed off and vendors on the sidewalk. This time it was much different, not a lot of street vendors, just a lot a lot of food vendors in a parking lot. There were a number of art galleries open and some of the stores on the sidewalk. I must confess it seemed a lot better in 2019. This time when I walked down the street there seemed to be more bars open and people on the sidewalk dancing. Nothing wrong with that, just not what I was looking for while I was out shopping for souvenirs. “The First Friday of every month, thousands of residents and visitors fill the Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City to enjoy what has become the City’s most dynamic and popular event: #firstfridayskc. Our community comes alive as arts organizations, galleries, studios, and a wide variety of businesses in the district feature local, regional, national, and international artists. Also catch one of the Crossroads’ creative wall murals or visit our exciting new Art Alleys between Baltimore and Wyandotte from 18th Street to Southwest Blvd which are filled with Art Vendors and their individual artistic creations.” [1] [1] Crossroads Community Association.
