"ROJA+" MEANS F**KING HARDCORE (ZZ-030) | Mountain biking Zona Zero: ZZ-030 Fuente del Gato trail

My first mountain biking experience in the Zona Zero was HARDCORE. I should have googled what "Roja+" as a grade for mountain biking trails in Zona Zero really means (= f**cking difficult). We have ridden the ZZ-030 Fuente del Gato tour of the BTT Pirineo trail center and quickly learned that every mountain biking trip in the Zona Zero is a bit harder than the same grade anywhere else. This tour is definitely not for beginners, nor for the faint of heart. Anyway, it's spectacular! Follow me onto my first tour mountain biking in the Zona Zero. Mountain biking in the Zona Zero is a once-in-a-lifetime dream for many mountain bikers. The Zona Zero in northern Spain, just south of the Pyrenees mountain range, is an area around the trail center of Aínsa in the region of Sobrabre. In 2011 the old trails that have been known to local mountain bikers since forever, have been put under the official name tag of "BTT Pirineo". The Zona Zero mountain bike center became really famous when the Enduro World Series first stopped there in 2015. For the 2018 tour a stop is planned there again which goes to show how important the BTT Pirineo in Spain has become for the international enduro racing scene. Today, as of August 2017, the BTT Pirineo offers about 30 enduro tours - all well marked in the areas around Aínsa, Boltaña and up to Broto. All the enduro tours have names that start with ZZ-. Besides that it offers a few more easy tours to get started. Those start with a ZL- in their names. All the tours can be conveniently explored on the BTT Pirineo website - the GPX data are readily available for download there aswell. One more thing that the BTT Pirineo is famous far: all the trails here are a bit harder than in other places - so beware! Know your skills well and then try yourself out on some of the amazing trails of the Zona Zero area. I'm connecting you to the beauty of this world from #behindbars.
