The North East of England's rugged coastline is awash historic castles and stunning beaches. Ross Back Sands stands alone however as being one of the most beautiful and unspoilt stretches of coastline in the county, if not the world. With views of Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island to the north, Bamburgh Castle to the south and the Cheviot hills to the West, this beach is wild, open and surrounded by centuries of history. The beach is often deserted, just like when we filmed on this cold, bright winter's day.
