This is a 14-minute video from the June 23, 1968 Major League Baseball game, the first of a doubleheader, between the Boston Red Sox and the White Sox in Chicago, won by the Red Sox, 6-2. It is from the WHDH TV in Boston broadcast, with Ken Coleman and Ned Martin on play by play and Mel Parnell the analyst. Gary "Ding Dong" Bell does it all for Boston at steamy White Sox Park, scattering six hits over nine innings while allowing only two runs, and going 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. As if that wasn't enough, we bring you the complete top of the ninth, when 44-year-old knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhem works a clean frame (06:00)! This could not be more fabulous, especially when he enters the game in a boss white muscle car and fans are pelting it with paper cups! Box score in comments. Not copyrighted. I don't claim the rights to, and don't profit from, this video. I just posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
