Sacramento city officials have proposed four new homeless housing sites, including tiny home villages and a safe camping location, as part of efforts to address the region’s homelessness crisis. The sites include Arena Boulevard in North Natomas, near the Sacramento Executive Airport, Gardendale Road by Florin Road, and Sequoia Pacific in the River District. Community response has been divided, with some residents opposing the locations and others supporting the need for action. City leaders confirmed that all the sites are city-owned and will have 24/7 monitoring, resources, and security. The council also voted to require future residents of the tiny homes to pay up to 30% of their income in rent after a 90-day grace period.
