School of Electrical Engineering (SELECT), VIT

The School of Electrical Engineering (SELECT), VIT, seeks to prepare skilled engineers to meet industry needs and also develop socially responsible citizens. The School has state-of-the art laboratories in the areas of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. These labs have the latest simulation tools to cater to various specialisations with facilities for measurement, characterisation and synthesis of experimental as well as theoretical results. SELECT has industry sponsored advanced laboratories such as Danfoss Advance Drives Lab, Fluke Testing and Calibration Lab, Schneider Electric Smart Energy Monitoring Lab, Q-Max Automated Test Engineering Lab (Alumni Sponsored) and NxP Semiconductors, India, which have established Centres of Excellence for R&D activities by students under the guidance of faculty and industry experts. The school has four Government Sponsored labs too. Most of the students get placed in good companies through the Campus Recruitment. Students are encouraged to do their final year projects in foreign universities through the Semester Abroad Programme. The following programmes are offered by the school: UG: • B. Tech.
