Don’t get me wrong, I love projection. But the before and after of this system is just insane, especially with the lights at 100% output in this video. What are your thoughts of projection vs MicroLED? Projection is such a great way to do large-format displays, but what are your thoughts on the advantages or disadvantages of MicroLED comparatively? So here’s what went down: Mario from SonxPlus Technologies (@sonxplustechnologies1625 ) rolled into this Ottawa basement that already had a solid acoustically transparent projector setup… and the customer basically said, “cool, now let’s blow the doors off it.” We pulled the smaller screen and upgraded the room to a 156” MicroLED wall in a 2.13:1 ratio. And yeah, it’s as big as it sounds. Check out my Ottawa team SonxPlus Technologies here: https://sonxplustechnologies.com/ My favorite moments:01:19 - 3 Games at the same time 02:29 - Audio on a hard surface video wall 03:35 - Control and automation 05:40 - Resolution 06:28 - That is a really big cat 07:00 - Video wall processing The setup: – Just Video Walls 1.2mm – 11.8 ft wide x 5.5 ft tall – 600 nits max brightness (calibrated) running at around 60% output – 2880 x 1350 px – 3 HDMI 2.0 inputs – @JamesLoudspeaker custom sound bar LCR – @Control4Automation home automation and control The thing I’m most in love with about this is how different the room feels now. With projection, you kinda commit to the dark-cave life. Now we’re walking around with the lights on, game on, still looks ridiculous. Like, you’ll see it in the video… full brightness in the room and the image just doesn’t care. We also had to rethink audio, because you can’t hide speakers behind a MicroLED wall. So Mario designed everything around the hard surface and landed on a James Loudspeakers soundbar that fits the setup perfectly. Personally I’m a huge fan of the look, and it sounds really REALLY good too. One thing that surprised me a lot was how little the hard-surfaces in the room affected the audio. Normally we would want to treat the entire room for hard reflection points like the walls and floor, but this performed really well even with all that. No issues distinguishing sounds or voices. Although it would definitely be better with some acoustic treatments. Another one of my favorite things here is how Mario recessed this thing so it’s flush in the wall. It feels built-in and architectural kind of like the house was designed around it. So proud of Mario and the team at SonxPlus Technologies for absolutely crushing the design and install. Mario’s one of those guys who cares about the tiny details that make the whole thing feel effortless when it’s done. If you’re anywhere near Ottawa and want your space to hit like this, they’re the crew. Anyway, what are your thoughts about projection vs microled? Let me know in the comments. I’m always down to talk shop. 😄 Interested in a wall for your home or business? Shoot me your info here: https://justvideowalls.com/get-a-vide... #hometheater #techgadgets #tech #cinema #tv
