In this episode of Digitel Talk, host Ian Ginn sits down with Philippe Lattes ( / philippelattes ) , President and Co-Founder of LEOBLUE (https://leoblue.eu/) , to explore a revolutionary idea: connecting every smartphone on Earth — through satellites and Bluetooth. Philippe shares how his team has achieved what many said was impossible — sending data directly from space to smartphones using existing Bluetooth technology. The goal? To create a universal, affordable communication network that could transform disaster response, education, and inclusion in the most remote corners of the planet. Philippe also discusses the role of AI onboard satellites, how “smart” space technology can detect fires or pollution in real time, and why energy consumption and digital equality must be at the heart of future innovation. Tune in to hear how a visionary approach to space and telecommunications could help bridge the global digital divide — and why doing so is, quite literally, a mission for good. 🎧 Listen now to learn how space innovation is powering connection for good. He also founded and managed companies, including one in Poland later sold, and today works as an international consultant supporting innovation and space projects in developing countries across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. This has created the LeoBlue company based on a patented technology to transmit directly informations to all the smartphones from satellites. The main use will be to provide a universal alert system in non covered area or when the terrestrial networks are out of services. It gives him both the entrepreneurial mindset and global network needed to scale LEOBLUE.
