This little jig has been described as a "Trip Saver" for our customers along the Gulf Coast and the "Swiss Army Knife Jig" for the Tropics. If you fish for Redfish, Flounder, Speckled Trout, Snook, and anything else that lives in saltwater flats and marshes, there will be times when your fish are eating small bait and they refuse the standard size lures in your tackle box. That's where these little guys come in handy. They land hook point up, make a small splash, imitate small bait, and look alive in the water. If you're fishing for Bonefish, Permit, and other shallow water gamefish in the tropics, you better have these in your tackle box! Fish them three different ways. They come rigged with a grub, and look alive whether you're swimming them or at rest. For a more subtle presentation, fish them without the grub. And as a last ditch effort on tough days, remove the tail and tip the jig with bait. This Bugg isn't hard to tie, and I give you three different ways to tie it in the video. I hope you'll give it a shot! Recipe/Materials: Buggs Bonefish Jig Head (1/8, 3/16, or 1/4 oz.) Daville 210 Denier Thread Buggs Screw-Lock (optional) 25 pound Mason Hard Mono Micro Rabbit Strip for collar Magnum Rabbit Strip for wing/top Krystal Flash (standard and UV) 2.25" Grub for 1/8 and 3/16 oz. 3" Grub for 1/4 oz. Hard as Hull Head Cement Tip for 1/4 oz. Version - You can use a zonker strip for the collar and palmer it twice. Make it tight and you'll have a fuller, better proportioned Bugg!
