There are three ingredients to healthy bone density, in this video, you'll learn how to reverse bone loss, osteopenia, and osteoporosis using this simple formula. The formula is: Bone Resilience = (Building Blocks X Osteogenic Loading) - Resistance Factors My name is Dr. Ray Hinish, author of the Amazon Bestseller, Strong Bones Forever and founder of the OsteoCoach Center for Strong Bones. In this video, I want to introduce you to the formula for building fracture-resistant bones. Let me start by introducing you to the complete formula and then I’ll explain each component in detail. The formula is as follows: Bone-Building Blocks X Osteogenic Loading - Resistance Factors = Bone Resilience. Let’s start with “Bone Building Blocks”. Most people believe that calcium is the only important material needed to build healthy bone, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, there are three core factors needed to keep your skeleton healthy. First, we have the bone minerals, which are made up of calcium, magnesium, and trace minerals such as silica, boron, zinc, copper, strontium, and more. Think of the minerals as the ingredients in the recipe for building bone, if you’re missing any single ingredient, the bones simply won’t come out of the oven fully baked. Next, you need certain vitamins, especially vitamins D and K. These vitamins make sure you can absorb and utilize the minerals. Most people understand the importance of vitamin D but fail to supplement with vitamin K. Vitamin D helps the body absorb the minerals, but vitamin K makes sure they are deposited in the bones and kept out of the arteries. Finally, you need certain proteins that make up the scaffolding on which the body lays down the bone minerals. In supplements, this usually comes in the form of collagen. Once you have the necessary building blocks, we need to activate the bone-building process through Osteogenic Loading. Osteogenic Loading involves applying a heavy load to the bones that is sufficient to trigger the bone-building cells to get to work laying down new, healthy, fracture-resistant bone. Osteogenic loading can be tricky because you need to apply enough load to the bones to make them grow stronger, but not so much that you risk fracturing the bone. The truth is, most people simply don’t apply enough of a load to the bones to trigger the bone-building process. So, all of those minerals they’re taking can’t be fully used to make bones. At the OsteoCoach Center for Strong Bones in Owings Mills, Maryland, we use a special technology called the BioDensity to safely apply heavy, bone-building loads to the body without the high risk of conventional weight training. If you live close to Baltimore, I encourage you to visit our website OsteoCoach.com for more details. Best of all, it takes just 15 minutes once a week. I’ll cover the OsteoCoach approach at the end of the video, for now, let’s move on to the final part of the bone resilience formula...resistance factors. A resistance factor is anything that works against your bone-building process. This includes certain drugs like antacid medications, antidepressants, steroids like prednisone, anticonvulsant medications, and other miscellaneous factors like rheumatoid arthritis, chronic stress, diabetes, soda intake, insufficient vegetable intake, lack of exercise, etc. In future videos, I’ll speak about many of these resistance factors, for now just be on the lookout for anything that may work against your bone-building process. So that’s the formula... Bone Building Blocks X Osteogenic Loading - Resistance Factors = Bone Resilience. At the OsteoCoach Center for Strong Bones in Owings Mills, Maryland we implement a proven system to strengthen the bones, improve balance, and physical strength in just 10-15 minutes once a week.
