Frankenstein By Mary Shelley chapter 11, narrated by Isaac Birchall Frankenstein’s creation starts to tell his tale. He scarcely remembers his “birth”, but remembers being overwhelmed by his senses, sight, smell, touch. He looked for a place to rest from the heat and headed to the forest where he rested until he felt hunger. He foraged for berried and nuts but felt afraid of the world and darkness around him. Soon, the moon rose, and it fascinated him and lead him to more berries. He was amazed that the beautiful sounds he heard were produced by little birds, but shocked when a horrid sound came from him when he tried to imitate them. He slowly became able to differentiate berried, roots, and birds. One day he found a fire, that filled him with warmth, and touched it which he was amazed hurt him. He set out one afternoon when snow was covering the ground. He came across a hut and finding the door open, he entered. The man inside screamed and ran after seeing the creature’s appearance. HE spent the night there, and in the morning, he came across a small village which fascinated him. He tried entering some buildings and the villagers rallied against him and threw stones at the monster. He eventually found a hovel that was joined to a small cottage. It was safe, and dry, and just large enough for him to fit in. He explores a little when he sees a girl working the grounds around his new home. A young man joins her and he watches these two people work about their farm. He then, looking through a small hole in the wall, sees an old man who is strumming a guitar. The Creature watches the people go about their daily businesses around the farm, and the Daemon is utterly fascinated by these fine people.
