Before making the excellent film Fat Head, he was a comedian. As a comedian, his daughter missed him too much, and he realized he needed to return home. Prior to being a traveling comedian, he was a reporter. Back in the day, he reported on the benefits of bad diets because he didn’t know any better. Tom has also made a Fat Head for kids! It’s important to teach kids from a young age the truth about food, what is healthy and yummy and what isn’t. DIET AND HEALTH POLICY The wisdom of crowds is knowledge based on our experiences. Little groups of experts do not have as many experiences as the thousands of experiences in the crowds. We should look to the people, not the singular experts for our health. The vision of the anointed is the opposite of the wisdom of the crowds. Knowledge based on the academic theory that comes on suddenly is often much worse than the wisdom of the crowds. Grand plans coming from intellectualism are often not the right way to go. Sometimes, these folks avoid evidence to the contrary and impose their will on others. --- TOM NAUGHTON & FAT HEAD While most people saw the documentary Super Size Me as an expose of the fast-food industry, comedian and former health writer Tom Naughton saw it as a dare: He'd show that you could lose weight on a diet of burgers and fries. In addition to chronicling Naughton's weight drop, the film provides interviews with doctors, nutritionists, and others to drive home his thesis that most of what we know about "healthy eating" is wrong. Naughton addresses Spurlock's argument that the current prevalence of obesity cannot have been caused by home cooking or by non-corporate, family-owned restaurants since they have been around longer than corporate fast-food chains. Naughton says that the food people eat at family-owned restaurants is the same unhealthy food eaten at fast-food chains and that the reason the former did not make people obese is that during his generation's youth, families would only eat at them a handful of times a year, and not frequently, as some people do at fast-food restaurants. --- Related Links: https://www.fathead-movie.com/ https://www.amazon.com/Fat-Head-Tom-N... https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/fat-h... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1333994/ https://www.dietdoctor.com/a-classic-... https://thescienceofnutrition.wordpre... --- Vinnie Tortorich, founder of the NSNG®️ Lifestyle aka No Sugar No Grains.
