Facebook fan-page: / 330163270336943 This is the 'Opening Theme' for the game 'Dawn of Mana - Santuary-' ('Seiken Densetsu 4') and it was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The arrangement I'm playing is from the book 'Dawn of Mana - Santuary - Original Soundtrack Piano Arrange Collection'. Before January of this year I was only aware of the compositions of Sakamoto through his work on the movie 'The Last Emperor's' soundtrack, and that stunningly beautiful signature track from that score - 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence'. But then, a few of my kind subscribers requested that I play some Sakamoto - so I looked into his other stuff, bought some of his CDs and a Collected Piano Works sheet book and was about to learn one when I randomly discovered that he also done some videogame stuff!?!? Albeit only one theme for the Mana series - so I checked it out - and it too shimmered with beauty, so I chose that as my first Sakamoto to learn/record/upload! The piece contains all of Sakamoto's usual complex jazzy-esque harmonies, and slow contemplative melodies - it's actually quite a surprise and unusual to see a composition like this appear as the opening/title theme to quite a 'big' game release! To hear the original composed for an interesting ensemble of instruments (ahhh, the oboe in this piece!!!) go here and let yourselves be carried away to another realm: • Seiken Densetsu4 - Dawn of Mana - Opening On a different note, for those of you who like to read, I've written a novel - a work of absurdist fiction which falls somewhere in between Alice in Wonderland and Kafka - which can now be found on Amazon Kindle. Here is a link to the US store. The book is also available in other territories too, like the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy etc. Check it out! http://www.amazon.com/Kierkegaards-Ap...
