Long Hood Forward Action on the Selinsgrove Branch and Buffalo Line
On Friday March 28th, 2025 I ventured out trackside with the free time I had throughout the day. The day began in downtown Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on the former PRR Selinsgrove Branch where we saw NSHR-2 with NSHR 1944 heading to work the Kreamer Feed Mill just west of Selinsgrove. Later in the day we caught a 5 engine led H53 with SD40E 6340 on the point with a lengthy train for Northumberland. We then made our way up to Milton as H57 made its way south from Lock Haven with yet another long hood forward leader being SD60E 6982. Its the key part of the consist was the long string of boxcars that were in storage on the Buffalo Line for months on the Drury siding just north of Renovo.
