July kicks off the château B&B busy season. | Queen's Escape

July & August are the busiest seasons in France for a bed & breakfast. In particular, August, is the month when the entire country goes on vacation. And the majority of French people take vacation in their own country. So, down from Paris, come the masses. And we are ready. Or... sort of ready. We're already tired. But we are excited nonetheless! Queen's Escape is located in the French countryside, steps away from the Dordogne River, near to Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac. There's golf and good food. In other words, we're right where the action is, at least a couple months out of the year. In particular, it is for the Queen. The king took shelter at a different location in France. We've named each of our guest rooms after great Queens of the past and present from around the world. Margrethe, Eleanor, Catherine, Himiko, Cleopatra, and soon our bridal suite will be ready in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. With it's sprawling green meadows, 100-year-old trees, and historic location in the small medieval town of Gluges, the 200-year-old château is truly an escape.
