My bathtub drain is old and the tub was beginning to get minor rust around the edges. I did not feel comfortable trying to twist out the old drain and installing a new one myself and I would still have to deal with rust. since the rust is minor I treated the rust with multiple applications of Rustoleum Rust Reformer. Eventually, I used a small wire wheel brush and a cordless drill to remove the surface rust and applied the Rustoleum again. I let the Rust Reformer sit for two and a half days and then applied a coat of Sheffield Porcelain touch-up paint. after the paint dried for 12 hours, I put on a second coat. there is a few small spots in the tub that were treated with Sheffield paint over 2 years ago and the paint has held up fine and no rust occurred. Once the final coat was dry I added a Quicktrim Strainer body in chrome. I bought the Strainer from Eagle Mountain for about $8 plus $5 shipping but I found a similar one at Lowes. The part number is in the video. I found the cheapest price for the Sheffield paint at the True Value hardware store. I bought the Rustoleum reformer on Amazon.
