CATBOATS, PIRATES & GRANDCHILDREN - This is a video that captures the dreams and imagination of my 5 year old grandson Victor. It takes us into the fantasy world of finding an old key hidden in a library book about pirates, and then upon a little more searching, we find a map where "X" marks the spot. But the island it is buried on is called Monkey Island!!! We searched on Google Earth and found "Little Island" in Padanaram, South Dartmouth, MA. We learned that Little Island is nicknamed "Monkey Island" by the locals. And so off we went in our CatBoat "You Betcha" in search of pirates and buried treasure. We hope you enjoy the journey. I've learned that being a grandfather is all about creating experiences and memories in your grandchildren that will last a lifetime, and I hope we accomplished that with this video. We call this "gunkholing" and those special shallow water places are called sailing in "skinny waters". We'll start with Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. But I also look forward to venturing beyond into southern Cape Cod, Narragansett Bay and elsewhere in New England as well. So let’s set out on this adventure together and have some fun. Maybe it will generate lots of conversation on the subject of gunkholing and sailing in skinny waters and maybe, in some small way, it will entice you to do the same with your boat.
