Bowness-on-Windermere & Ambleside Lake Cruise: LAKE DISTRICT in our Motorhome We stayed at Bowness-on-Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club Site in our Coachman Travel Master. This well kept site in a few minutes walk from Windermere waters edge, where you can take boat trips, or even hire a small boat to sail yourself. We took the Windermere Lake Cruise on the red route from Bowness to Ambleside Pier. This was a fantastic experience. In Ambleside we stopped at Fresher’s Cafe for some food, we had a friendly welcome at this family run cafe.   / fresherscafeambleside   As we sailed back to Bowness, four RAF jets flew overhead.. that was a real treat. Back in Bowness we tested out the pizza at Boaters Bar. This is a must if you like pizza..the Bali Bros is certainly different, and was our favourite. https://boatersbowness.co.uk/ We stayed on pitch 70 at the Club Site, in November.
