Xbox Celebrates CMA Changes, PlayStation Keeps Complaining

The CMA updated their Microsoft Activision deal concerns about the console market and the possibility of a Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox future are much less of an issue than they thought. Xbox is now celebrating as responses to the provisional findings have been published. The Microsoft deal is looking good but PlayStation and Jim Ryan are still complaining about issues that have been dismissed by the UK CMA. The big Xbox news today is that cloud gaming was also detailed as not being a separate market further bolstering Microsoft's position. That leaves the CMA as the last location where we will be waiting to hear more from regulators. The EU Commission has also made some important statements regarding the Microsoft Activision Blizzard purchase and statements from MLex indicate that bringing Call of Duty to 150 million more players, and offering a 10-year deal for all Activision games to everyone could turn the tide in Microsoft's favor.
