Re-uploaded to see if quality will not take a hit..... I have been wanting to test my new 1080P scanline filter for quite some time. But due to work being to hectic and not having the right hardware to record at 1080p without stuttering I could not do it. Finally I can record at 1080p 30fps or 60 fps. But since my goal is to show scanlines in 1080p I did not feel it a necessity to go 60fps. Anyways there seems to be a misconception about how LEDs cannot produce true blacks like a CRT and that is why scanlines are hard replicate on a modern set. That is not entirely true!!! And in some cases the LED produces a much stronger black then a CRT could ever. (In Some Cases) The main problem with scanline generators is that they simply draw lines over the image. I decided to take a different route and was able to produce scanlines in post processing by replicating the CRT. In other words... I did not draw lines over the image!!! These scanlines are where I chose the raster not to be drawn. This creates true black lines! Just the way you would see them on a RGB monitor like mine. I have the scanlines pixel perfect. Go ahead pause and take a look close. Take a screenshot! But make sure you do it in 1080p! Not windowed, or on a monitor that cannot handle 1080p. Make sure your smart phone can handle 1080p! If you are not viewing at true 1080p then this will not look right! The reason I am doing this is to attempt to show scanlines as perfect as possible through youtube. To show people what 240p was suppose to look like. With that said.... I believe the XRGB mini could possibly do this with a proper firmware. Cause as you can clearly see... IT IS POSSIBLE! It looks even better then 720P with scanlines! I also want to make it clear that I only like scanlines in 240p content. I hate then on 480p and higher resolutions because they never had them! I am replicating the behavior of 240p. Scanlines are very much a part of the actual look of low rez raster graphics. On another note.... I have a bit more time now and I do plan to make a real video here soon.
