These bloody adventures have become so iconic to the Age of Sail, that the mere sight of a wooden vessel is bound to strike up the image of those black-hearted scoundrels, swinging their swords and singing yo-ho. “Pirate ship” has become ubiquitous with any sailship built before the industrial revolution, sometimes after.
